The doors to Joni and Friends were opened in 1979 to respond to the many questions and needs pouring in from families affected by disability who read Joni’s books or had seen the movie of her life. From the very onset, Joni and her staff and volunteers devoted their energies to developing Christ-centered programs and services which would help meet the spiritual and practical needs of disabled people and their families, including Family Retreats across the nation, the distribution of wheelchairs and Bibles worldwide to needy people with disabilities, and church training through local and national Disability Ministry Training Summits.
In 1982, Joni began broadcasting her daily feature “Joni and Friends” and the response was overwhelming. Today, after nearly 30 years, “Joni and Friends” has a new sound and contemporary style, introducing Joni’s ministry to a new generation of listeners across the United States and around the world. Married 27 years to Ken Tada, Joni says, “God has blessed me with so many opportunities, I just want to ‘pass on the blessings’ to others who, like me, struggle with a disability. And I invite you to join me in sharing the love of Christ to anyone and everyone with special needs!”

Joni and Friends English programming airs daily on stations all over the United States. To find a station in your area select the state you live in.
